For the Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, we completed a $20 million seismic retrofit and Surgery Remodel that would bring the existing 1958 building into compliance in 2013, providing a facility that would remain viable until the year 2030. We installed concrete shear walls and drag beams for floors 2-7. This work was accomplished in conjunction with the planned Surgery Center remodel; ancillary projects included medical gasses upgrades, staff locker rooms, and a new sterile processing department on the second floor. We utilized a similar phasing program in the build out of the 5th floor Bothin Burn Center. Since this building was occupied during this upgrade, we phased it in such a way that the surgery center was kept up and running throughout the duration of the project.
